Lots of Brains

Savannah's head is shaped oddly in the back. There's sort of a shelf. Our pediatrician referred us to a pediatric neurologist at Primary Children's Hospital. He and his partner agree that it is a certain condition that is a big long word that I can't remember. No mental disabilities whatsoever. Just cosmetic. It's fairly obvious though. The neurologist said he really doesn't want to have to put a helmet on a baby so young so he wants to wait 'til she's six or seven months and reevaluate. He's hoping it will flatten on it's own, or at least begin to which would mean it would probably continue to flatten on it's own. We're hoping so too. For more than one reason. Firstly, how aggravating would it be for Savannah to have to wear a helmet? That'd be horribly sad to watch her go through. Secondly, since it's cosmetic most insurances will not cover it. I've heard it's about $3,500. Ouch.

I wet the back of her hair in these pictures so you could see it better, Momma.

In the meantime her hair is falling out. Fast. And the "shelf" in the back of her head it's becoming much more obvious because of it. So I've been looking for baby bonnets. And I haven't found one. Anyone know where I can find some?

Bouncing Baby

Halloween Night

Lucas decided that instead of a monster he'd be a "super hero monster". He's not wearing his cape in this pic though. Right before we went trick or treating he changed his mind and wanted to be "just a monster". Mya's antenna wouldn't stay up, but it cute. Savannah is wearing the same dalmatian costume Lucas and Mya wore as a baby.
We went trick or treating with one of Doug's sister's family: Dan, Dana, Logan, and Mason. Aunt Nat was there too!

We made a new friend while we were out.

When we got back home from trick or treating with Dana's fam Lucas said he wanted to do some more. So we went out around our house for a little bit more. I loved seeing them trick or treat. Made my heart happy to know they were making memories. The kids were in bed by nine and fell asleep within two minutes. It was a really fun Halloween night.

Trick or Treating at Veterans Nursing Home

One of Doug's sisters, Natalie, works at the Veterans Nursing Home. They have a trick or treat every year and we go every year.

I didn't get a picture of Aunt Natalie in her awesome costume so I ripped this one from her Facebook page.
I was so proud of how Lucas talked to and touched and let the vets touch him. He really is a sweet little boy. Mya was a different story, but she'll get there.

Pretty Girl

Trunk or Treating at Dick's Market

We agreed they could eat a piece of candy before getting in the car.

It was fun but there was too long of a line for the small amount of trunks. We went since our church didn't do a trunk or treat this year. Hopefully thell do one next year.
